FAITH- Advent in Honduras
DEVOTIONAL: Having FAITH, which is essentially trusting in something, is no easy task. In fact, oftentimes we have FAITH in things when they have already proven to be trustworthy. I have FAITH my garbage will be picked up next Monday, because it has been picked up every other Monday. Having FAITH in something is a lot easier if we don't have to wait. Waiting for something certainly can wear on one's FAITH. But because of God's good and timely track record, is is possible to have FAITH! The second week of Advent focuses on the FAITH candle. We have FAITH in the coming of something amazing, because God is God and we know He is good. Jesus is the Global Savior, and we have FAITH as we wait for His arrival.
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 11:11
"Now FAITH is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

FUN FACT: In Honduras, the traditional Christmas party is the best time of the year! It is celebrated on December 24 & 25 with family. Secular Christmas in Honduras and Central America centers around food, family, and fun; and each is well celebrated! Families travel all over the country to share time with each other. For Christians, Christmas tradition is not only to share joy in community, but also to personally prepare the heart to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Fireworks are widely popular and set off at midnight on Christmas Eve! Everyone is awake to celebrate the first moments of Christmas Day!
BREATH PRAYER: Use this breath prayer this week as you meditate on the FAITH candle.
Inhale: I will wait in FAITH
Exhale: Jesus will come again
**Do you know about breath prayer? It's as simple as breathing. You inhale with one simple stanza (prayer) and out with another. The simplicity of it allows us to pray all throughout our day. The significance of it allows us to inhale and exhale connection with God all throughout the day! Give it a try!

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
1. How has God proven himself FAITHFUL to you this past year, or season?
2. How well do you wait upon the Lord for his faithful answer?
