Write a Note to a Confirmand

We were so encouraged to hear about the faith of our young people during the Discipleship Confirmation final gathering. They shared about the comfort of God's presence, the mystery of hearing Him speak, and a desire to be witnesses in this world.
As they conclude this class, pray for them to shine the light of Jesus boldly and brightly everywhere they go. Pray for them to see how God wants to use them for kingdom impact right now. Lastly, pray against an enemy who speaks fear and lies into their already vulnerable minds.
On Sunday, August 30th Elaina Johnson, Kariana Palmer and Stella Gillen-Rexroad will be presenting their final projects during worship. Make sure to tune in and check out their creativity with paint, thread, and more. Avery Gillen-Rexroad also completed the confirmation year but will not be presenting a project. We will be praying over all four students during worship.

Dear Kariana, Avery, Stella, and Elaina, it has been really wonderful to watch you grow up in our church. Over the years I have appreciated your friendship, kindness, laughter, and talents. I have enjoyed watching you create beautiful music, ask great questions, clean up dishes in the kitchen, grow in knowledge, and love God and others. It is exciting to think about what God will teach you in the years ahead, and the different ways that He will use you. God bless you! Nathan Johnson
Elaina, Kariana, Stella, and Avery...it has been our joy to have you in Discipleship / Confirmation for the last year! We are excited about the persons you are today. We look forward to all the ways you will continue to respond to Jesus' call on your lives!! We want you to know that you are loved by Jesus and the people of Crosstown. My prayer is this the last year in D/C will serve as a foundation for an entire lifetime of loving and serving our Triune God--Father, Son, and Spirit!
Kariana - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
Your spiritual life journey began the moment you accepted Christ as your Savior and continues through your life journey. Completing confirmation and being baptized is a continuation of your spiritual life journey. God instructs and encourages you to be strong and courageous. You are deeply and dearly loved by God who will lead and guide you Kariana as you explore, critically think, and stay strong in your faith. Blessing on your confirmation.
Elaina - "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17) You are a remarkable child of God with many talents and gifts. As you discover your gifts and strengths Elaina remember to remain strongly rooted in Christ who will lead and guide you. Peace be with you and blessing on your confirmation.
Stella -- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) God is infinitely good, and He knows what He is doing, and He will come and guide you if you place your hope and trust in Him. Dwell and think of God as often as you can through your life journey. Completing confirmation should encourage you to place your confidence in God and seek him always. Blessing on your confirmation.
Avery -- Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2) We cannot avoid the challenges of life without God's continual help and salvation. The Lord God is always watching over you even when you feel He is far away. Think of God often and be encouraged He is with you always. Blessings on your confirmation.
Congratulations on your confirmation. I pray you will know that God is close to you even during the times when he seems far away. May you always remember that he is your good shepherd and will lead you in the best path for your life.
Hey Kariana, Avery, Stella, and Elaina! Congratulations on finishing confirmation! You are all such wonderful young people and I have loved getting to know you throughout youth group. Remember that you are so incredibly loved no matter what, both by God and the community around you. You all have such beautiful futures ahead of you and I'm so excited to see what you will do! I'm excited to see how God will work in each of your lives and I look forward to getting to know you even better! ♡
Love, Anna
Dear Avery, Elaina, Kariana and Stella,
I thank God for his faithfulness in your lives and how he has drawn you closer to him in this last year of Discipleship Confirmation. May He strengthen you as you seek to love others and love Him on a daily basis--may He protect you from any fears and lies and help you to know His truth and love. We are thankful for each of you, and how you are saying yes to Jesus in your own ways right where God has placed you. You bless our congregation! Amy Ponce
Dear Elaina,
God bless you on this special day! This is not an end to learning but just the beginning of your faith walk. Keep your faith strong in the Lord always. We love you and are so proud of you.
